  my wife attended the special assembly day this last sunday.

  here are some interesting points.. 1. attendance was 700.

  i saw that other people had done this and i figured it would be a good way to introduce myself.

  i've been reading many of the threads and let me tell you that it's comforting to read that others feel the same way i have felt about being in the organization.

  i'm not sure how much i can contribute as far as delectible tidbits of information, but i have replied to a couple of threads to, if nothing else, interject some 'humor' into things.

  just wondering if this happened to any of you.

  did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!

  sometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.

  today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.

  since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

  Do you think that Armaggeddon is "near" or many, many years away?

  i am 40 years old and i have been hearing the same old song by jw's "armaggeddon is around the corner" since i was a toddler.

  it has to come to their minds that how long are they going to keep saying that armaggeddon is "near" or "around the corner"?

  or they eventually going to quit believing in this fantasy and look at reality?

  I truly believe, in my heart of hearts, that even if I live to 100, I still will not see armageddon.

  The longer I live the less I believe in the concept.

  since i'm relatively healthy, don't smoke, hardly drink (2 beers a day), and if i base myself on my grandparents and parents age, i think that i should live up to anywhere between 85 and 95. which means i should have another 40 to 50 years of posting here.

  Based on my health wise habits, and my family blood line, I should live 'til I'm 90. Of course, accidents do happen in the way there. May I be fortunate enough to live 'til 90, or 'til my goal... 100!

  Which aspect of JWs would you like to see a documentary about?

  if you had a chance to make a documentary about some aspect of the jws, what would ou choose?

  would you talk about shunning, the blood issue, explain how its a cult, or what?

  unfortunately this would only be for an 8 minute segment on a current affairs programme so i need something that'll get peoples attention and make them think without having to go too deep into the subject.. what would you choose to talk about?.

  I'd love to compile the myriad of cases where they've swept the incriminating evidence about a fellow JW and hidden it from the authorities at all cost in the name of "not bringing reproach to the name of Jehovah and His organization on earth".

  What a large encyclopedia that would be!!! I mean, truth be told and they could make many seasons of that drama "Law & Order".

  It'd be called "Law & Order: Swept Under The Rug In The Name Of Jehovah".

  Keep Your Eye Simple - Special Assembly Day

  apparently, many of the dubs can't keep their eye simple, so they need an assembly to tell them how to do it.. youths, are you pursuing spiritual goals?

  is one talk for the afternoon.

  (education, careers).

  I knew 2 people that "claimed" to be annointed.

  Both were unstable mentally. Real nut jobs!
